As there is only one day left for the celebration of Christmas, Mizoram government has ensured that the celebration passes off peacefully. For the purpose, the security of the state is tightened.

With the coming week of Christmas and New Year celebrations, the Mizoram government is all set for the tact security arrangements to avoid any casualty to occur.

For the purpose, police mobile and foot patrolling were being conducted round-the-clock with Sub Divisional Police Officers (SDPOs) heading the teams.

The SP of Aizawal informed that all the officers of the police stations, assisted by armed battalion personnel, conducted patrolling within their jurisdiction to prevent any untoward incidents in the Christians-dominated state.

Meanwhile, the state excise and narcotics department has declared 23 to 26 December as dry days. On the declared dates, the populace will not be able to purchase the liquor from any medium.

Along with this, the Mizoram government has made elaborate security arrangements to ensure that Christmas and New Year celebrations passed off peacefully in the state, a top police official said on Saturday.

As Mizoram being the Christian Dominated state, the celebrations will be extended until the new year begins and this the reason why the Mizoram Government is concerned about the security arrangements of the state this is the reason why the security has been tightened up in each and every district of the state to pass away the celebrations peacefully.
