Itanagar: The terror of the United Liberation Front of Assam-Independent is not going to end anyway. ULFA-I militants have started to haunt businessmen in Upper Assam again. In another incident, a businessman’s son has allegedly been kidnapped by 5 suspected ULFA-I cadres on Friday, the report said.
As per reports, Businessman Dilip Phukan’s son Arunab Phukan(24), a resident of Jagun under Margherita Constituency of Tinsukia district Arunab was on his way to Khandu village in Jairampur region, Arunachal Pradesh for some work and was found missing since then.
Meanwhile, some sources informed that the ULFA-I had been demanding extortion money from Dilip Phukan a few days back, failure of which his son has allegedly been kidnapped.
Over the years the outfit has reportedly been demanding extortion money from traders’ failure for which the victims are given life-threatening calls.
Although, the security forces have started search operations along the area the trader’s son was not traced till the filing of this report. Earlier it was reported that the Bordumsa killing incident was under the supervision of ULFA-I Publicity Secretary Rupam Asom. A group of cadres of the outfit has reportedly been involved in a series of terror activities since then.
