Itanagar: Union Minister of State, Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju has come to the front. The minister rules out chances of any big project over Tsangpo to divert the Brahmaputra water, the report said.
According to sources, Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju today has ruled out any feasibility of construction of canals over Tsangpo by China to divert Brahmaputra water.
Kiren said that the Brahmaputra is not a drain; it’s a big river. So, constructing canal over Sangpo by China to divert Brahmaputra water is not feasible. He further said such humongous project cannot be built secretly in short duration.
On the adulteration of Brahmaputra water, the central minister said no one should comment without duly diligence. There can be ample of reasons of dirty water and government is looking into it, he added.
Kiren Rijiju is an Indian politician and member of the Bharatiya Janata Party. Rijiju is current Union Minister of State for Home Affairs of India. A firebrand politician, Rijiju is well known for his oratory skills and has widely traveled around the world. He is also considered the face of Bharatiya Janata Party in North East India.
