Manipur: Organizations Stand Up against Government, Make an Announcement

Imphal: A number of Manipur organizations have made an announcement to agitate ahead of Christmas to mark grievance against the state government’s negligence on a number of issues. Failure of making public the contents of the Framework Agreement(FA) signed between the Government of India and NSCN(I-M) is one of the prime reasons, the report said.

Some sources said that a number of the organizations along with the opposition Congress for long have been demanding disclosure of the FA.

According to report, the Thangmeiband United Club is reported to organize a sit-in protest at Thangmeiband on December 7, extending support to the civil society organizations, political party representatives heading Delhi regarding the FA.

While, in another issue the Peace and Development Coordinating Committee, Khundrakpam has called for a road blockade along the Imphal-Saikul road if the Government does not take up necessary road construction works by December 15.

A framework is an agreement with suppliers to establish terms governing contracts that may be awarded during the life of the agreement. In other words, it is a general term for agreements that set out terms and conditions for making specific purchases
