Nagaland has recently received a new district, this is a sub-division that falls under the Tuensang district of Nagaland. The Nagaland Minister has expressed his happiness on the creation of this district.
Longon released a press statement to congratulate govt
Nagaland Minister for Geology and Mining, Border Affairs P Longon has expressed happiness on the creation of a new Noklak district, a sub-division under Tuensang district.
For this, he has released a press statement to congratulate the Nagaland government.
In a statement, Minister Longon said the Khiamniungan people are in a rejoicing, jubilant and celebrating over the creation of a new Noklak district with effect from December 21, 2017, from the erstwhile Tuensang district as the 12th district of Nagaland.
Mr Longon, on his behalf of the Khiamniungan people, expressed sincere thanks and gratitude to the NPF led DAN government under the leadership of Chief Minister TR Zeliang, NPF president Dr Shurhozelie Liezietsu, all Cabinet colleagues, Chief Secretary Pankaj Kumar and all Head of Departments for the creation of the Noklak district.
Mr Longon said the creation of Noklak district will bring in more development and also inclusiveness amongst the Nagas across the India and Myanmar. It will not only be beneficial for Nagaland, but Nagas in Myanmar will enjoy this creation.
Further conveying his joy he said, “It was a long cherished dream of the Khiamniungan people that has come true and will be recorded in Golden letters in the history of the Khiamniungan people.”
In his press statement, he also mentioned all the prayer groups “who were toiling day and night praying to Almighty God” and all who supported the creation of the district and thanked them all. Noklak is the 12th district of Nagaland and comprises of the erstwhile Noklak sub-division under Tuensang district.
It is the latest district to be bifurcated out of Tuensang after Kiphire and Lcongleng, created in 2004.
