The National People’s Party(NPP) has recently launched its party unit for the upcoming Assembly Polls in the state. On Saturday, the party has made this announcement.

Ato Yepthomi will be the party convener

Nagaland is going to have Assembly elections in the month of February next year and for this, the parties are giving a finishing touch to their preparations.

Meanwhile, National People’s Party(NPP) with the aim of winning the assembly seats in the state, launched a state unit of the party to contest the polls.

The party has made this announcement on Saturday and also informed about the leaders who have been chosen by the party to lead the unit in the state.

As per the information, Ato Yepthomi was named as the convener of the state unit.

Along with this Sashank Ghatraj was named co-convener.

Giving away the further information for the same, party stated that they will be able to form a committee with fullfledged office-bearers within the next 10 days.

NPP national general secretary Vivekraj Wangkhem, who is also the party in-charge of Nagaland, said NPP will definitely contest the election but did not say how many seats it will contest.

Apart from this, the state convener Yepthomi said, “NPP is the only national party with a tribal president, which can enable the people of the northeast to have a voice in the Parliament”.

Adding to this, he further states the Nagaland unit is NPP’s 11th state unit that will contest the upcoming assembly polls.
