Ramnath Kovind, The President of India is on his visit to the Northeastern states of the country. Today he is expected to inaugurate the Manipur Sangai Festival, a yearly festival conducted to depict art and culture of Manipur. The ceremony will be attended by many foreign dignitaries in the state.
North-East Development Summit will be a part of this festival
President Kovind is on his visit to Manipur today where he will inaugurate the Manipur Sangai Festival. This festival is a yearly affair but this year it is special as the President will be a part of it.
Along with him, the other dignitaries will also take part in this inaugural ceremony including numerous foreigners and ambassadors of South-East Asian countries and some Western countries.
As part of the 10-day State festival, a two-day North-East Development Summit will also be opened by the President today.
As per the information, the summit will take place at City Convention Centre in Imphal and over 170 delegates including official representatives of foreign countries and multi-national corporate firms are expected to grace the venue.
Moirangthem Asnikumar, Vice-Chairman of Manipur Infrastructure Development Agency(MIDA), while interacting with the media told that a record number of 20 Memorandum of Understandings(MoUs) will be signed with investor companies to attract investment in the State to generate employment avenues.
Tourism Ministry launches a mobile app
To give the festival more push and to ease the visitors during this festival, the Tourism Ministry of Manipur has recently launched a mobile app that will facilitate the people with detailed information about the whole festival.
The application will help visitors to access online information about the festival across venues on their mobile phones. The application is available for free download by the public at Android Play Store.
Further informing about the application, the Directorate of Tourism has also informed that the ministry has also made online tickets available through its portal www.sangaiticket.com in order to avoid last minute ticketing hassles by visitors.
Online tickets are made available for sale and one can also book their tickets using the mobile application, the sources informed.
Visitors using the application will have online access to information about events at different venues where the festival will be conducted this year.
Along with this, the app will also give away the news related to the Sangai Festival that will also help the visitors to know what is new this year and what programs will be performed by the artists during the festival.
Along with this, the visitors will also enjoy free Wi-Fi and update their visit status from Hapta Kangjeibung this year and hit a like button by visiting www.facebook.com/visitmanipur.
One can select the JioNet option on the available Wi-Fi networks at Hapta Kangjeibung and log onto JioNet after entering the OTP generated automatically.
As per the information received, entry tickets for Hapta Kangjeibung are as follows: Rs.30/- for Adults and Rs.20/- for Uniformed Students.
Along with this, the price of the tickets for Khuman Lampak and Lamboi Khongnangkhong is Rs. 20 for Adult and Rs.10 for Uniformed Students.
