Bhartiya Janta Party keeping an eye on the 60 Assembly seats of Tripura has announced the dates of the launch of its Election Campaign. The party will organize rallies on December 27 that will lead to the 60 constituencies of the state.
60 constituencies 60 rallies
Tripura is all set for the election on the 60 assembly seats and the political parties have also blown the conch to give a kick-start to their election campaign.
Bhartiya Janta Party like other political parties of the state, having an aim to win a majority of seats in the assembly has announced its dates for the rallies to counter rivals.
The party will organize its election campaign from December 27 that will cover the 60 constituencies of the state.
BJP has lined up rallies across the state to be attended by ministers, MPs, MLAs, and office-bearers from Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, and Manipur.
The BJP is ruling in Assam and Arunachal Pradesh while Manipur has a BJP-led government. Now the party is focussing on the three poll-bound states of Northeast that are scheduled for the elections next year.
During an interaction with the media, Sunil Deodhar, BJP’s Tripura in charge said, “On December 27, we’ll start a campaign for the polls. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP national president Amit Shah and Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath will campaign in the Tripura polls”.
The BJP has lined up rallies by central ministers in the first week of January. “We are trying for a rally either by Prime minister or Amitbhai or Yogiji in the first week of January,” Deodhar said.
The BJP is working to have at least one rally by the PM before the poll code of conduct is imposed in the state.
Though PM Modi has started the election campaign in Meghalaya with his visit to the state and the inauguration of Shillong-Tura Rail Project.
As per one of the Senior BJP leader, “There are 35% OBC voters in the state, of which 90% belong to the Nath and Debnath communities and are followers of Gorakhnath. Yogi is a disciple of Gorakhnath“.
Congress also gears up for Tripura
Congress is gearing up for the Tripura and Meghalaya Assembly polls after Gujarat and Himachal Assembly Elections.
For the purpose, Congress has set up an election committee, a manifesto team, and a social media panel to root out the CPI-M government ruling in the state since 1993.
“What this shows is that the Congress under Rahul ji is ready to take on our rivals and this signal will help the morale of our workers,” said a leader of the Congress.
